Monstera Mondays!

We're always here for Monstera Mondays because of obvious reasons:

1. Their beautiful fenestrations
2. Large, luscious, bright/green leaves
3. Statement piece
4. Brightens up any space Monsteras can be a little tricky at times.

Overall, Monsteras are pretty easy to care for. Something unique is that they thrive and do extremely well in water! It seems weird that these bad boys hate being under watered or over watered - yet they can just LIVE in water! Just remember to swap out the water at a minimum of 1x a week. Or if you can 2-3x a week.

Here are basic care tips for Monsteras:
(Note: These are general care tips but based on your location, environment, and what they've been used to will all vary)

Water: Water every 7-14 days; winters will be less frequent and summers will be more frequent. If your air is hot/dry, you may need to water more frequent. Allow the soil to dry out in between waterings

Light: They do not do well in direct sunlight! They can handle indirect bright light, however. What does this mean? Think of it this way - if you think your Monstera has to squint because the sun is directly hitting it, it won't do well. But if they "see" the sun but aren't squinting, that will be good.

Temperature: They thrive in warmer climates due to it being a tropical plant. However, they can acclimate based on where you live. Try to let it be between 65-85F!

Soil: If the soil is well-draining, it will most definitely help with the over watering aspect. They do not like wet feet and like to be throughly drained. IvyMay's House Plant Soil is perfect for them! We absolutely love their soil because they've perfected the ratio, they smell amazing, and each bag plants a tree!
